Listed below are some additional online resources for students. These sites are not affiliated in any way with Heritage Academy.
Khan Academy has some excellent videos and additional practice, organized as mini-units and lessons, for students. While the site does prompt for a user to register or sign-in, it is possible to use the site without doing either. The site covers math from kindergarten through calculus and linear algebra, and so it is appropriate both for students who wish to refresh their knowledge on earlier subjects and for students who wish to look ahead. www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra-home
Purplemath (www.purplemath.com) has some lessons with worked-out examples and explanations for many topics in algebra. The site also has some additional information, such as math book reviews and a description of how to type math problems in an e-mail or word document. www.purplemath.com/modules/index.htm
Math is Fun has simple, easy-to-follow directions and definitions for many topics in math. www.mathsisfun.com/
Cool Math also has some good (and colorful) explanations for many topics. I particularly like this one on solving quadratics by factoring: www.coolmath.com/algebra/09-solving-quadratics/02-solving-quadratic-equations-by-factoring-01, but others are also good.
College tutoring sites, such as this one from Estrella Mountain Community College (www.estrellamountain.edu/students/tutoring/math-success/algebra) can also have some additional documents, notes sheets, and/or videos for students. These sites are geared towards college students, but can still be applicable for junior high and high school scholars. (Please note that Estrella Mountain's site is not necessarily better or worse than other college tutoring sites, only one that I am familiar with as an alumnus of the college.)
How to Study.org has some articles that may prove useful in organizing notes and studying for tests and quizzes. www.howtostudy.org/resources_subject.php?id=16
